Mellow Yellow Monday

In the courtyard at my in-laws there are many beautiful flowers all the time. Their land is my favorite place to take photos. I really loved this unique yellow flower with the red stripes. I've never seen its like before. Anyone know what it is?

The stripes on the tulips look like they've been hand painted. Lovely.

Vibrant large size photos!

I have my template set to fit the 640 size ... 800px is really sharp :-)

At my blog, you looked at Aquilegia vulgaris. Common Name: Columbine Genus: Aquilegia Species: vulgaris

And is a Tulips as Pyzahn said.

Hope one day you will have a garden on your own(if you do not have that all ready) with all the flowers you find beautiful.

Beautiful flowers. I'm pretty sure it's a variety of tulip. Thanks for sharing. Happy MYM!

What a gorgeous tulip !

It may be one of the lookalike Rembrant varieties ... Mona Lisa perhaps. I saw some that looked just like these, when out for a walk, and the owner said they were Mona Lisas.

Apparently the variety is called Rembrant after the painter. The streaks in the original variety were caused by a virus. The new lookalikes do not have the virus.
